I woke up
around 6.30 p.m., took a shower and left to Shibuya by subway.
Shibuya
station was very crowded. While I was walking by the windows, I found a lot of
tourists standing at the windows and taking photos. I wondered what they were
interested in. I walked to the windows and found a lot of people walking down
on the Shibuya crossing street. It looked so amazing.
I walked out
of the train station quickly to Shibuya crossing street.
I looked up
to the building at the corner of the street. It was full of advertisements for Japanese
singers, Korean singers who debuted in Japan, Japanese drama, Japanese movies
etc.
I crossed
the street together with a crowd of people to look around and looked for an
interesting restaurant to have dinner.
I found a
ramen restaurant where the customer has to choose from the menu and pay at the
machine in front of the restaurant before going into the restaurant. When you
have chosen you meal and paid at the machine, you will get a ticket which you
have to take to the staff in the restaurant.
This
restaurant was full of both Japanese and foreign tourists.
After I finished my dinner, I came out of the restaurant and there was a black guy who came to say hi to me and ask If I knew a good bar here. I said no, this was my first day here. Then he had a lot of questions to ask about myself and in the end invited me to have a beer with him. But I had to refuse.
When I took
some photos at the Shibuya crossing street, I met a Brazilian guy who has been working
in Japan for 13 years. It was very interesting because I would like to work in
Japan as well. We had a chat for a while about staying here. It was a nice chat
because he didn’t make me feel like I was talking with a scary stranger.
At 10 p.m. I
had to go back to the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, I sat in the lobby of
the hotel to write my diary and plan my trip for tomorrow. I met an Italian guy
who lives in Spain and stayed at the same hotel and came to Japan for
travelling. We had a nice chat about travelling here. Before he came here, he
had been to Thailand. And the next day he had to leave Japan to go back home. I
could feel that he didn’t want to leave from here and he looked a bit sad when
he said that. I was not sure if he looked sad because he had to go back to work
or because he would like to have more time in Japan. But for me that time I
thought that I would surely be sad when it would be time for me to leave here.
I walked up
to my room, turned on the television and watched Japanese programs. I
remembered that when I was a student, I tried to search for Japanese television
programs from Thailand. Sometimes it was successful but sometimes there was a
problem with the signal. Even though I could not understand what they were
talking on the TV, I still felt happy watching it.
Around midnight,
I had to sleep. I turned off the TV and the lights. The room was very dark. I
closed my eyes and reviewed everything that had happened today. I had waited
for this day for a long time. It was really like a dream.
